Workshop on Trauma Management with Cast Application - November 25, 2001

It is our pleasure and glory to announce that our Workshop on Trauma Management with Cast Application was accredited by the Panel of CNE Accreditation, Institute of Advanced Nursing Studies with 5.5 HACNE. On the other hand, AADO was also invited to commission a similar workshop for the Course Members who are studying in the Post-Registration Certificate Course in Orthopaedic Nursing organized by the Institute of Advanced Nursing Studies as their enhancement programme.

On 25th November 2001, the commissioned Workshop on Trauma Management with Cast Application was launched at Orthopaedic Learning Centre, Prince of Wales Hospital for 50 participants : 43 Registered Nurses, 6 Nursing Officers and one Nursing School Principal. The Lecturer-in charge of the Post-Registration Certificate Course sat in the Workshop for Monitoring.

The Workshop consisted of theoretical input and hands on practice. In the morning session, distinguished speakers introduced common pitfalls and different aspects on casting and nursing management. In the afternoon session, active learning was conducted through demonstration by experienced instructors and follow with hand-on practice on cast application and removal by participants.

Feedback after the Workshop was very encouraging. Most of the participants including the Lecturer-in-charge found the programmes informative, stimulating and interesting in enhancing the knowledge of principles and management on Cast Application.
